A shared version of the walk: six miles of flat riverside path at an unhurried pace, with a long stop halfway. It takes most of the morning.
People fall into twos and threes and swap around as they go, which is rather the point. Nobody leads a discussion. If you want to walk the whole way without saying anything to anybody, that is a perfectly good use of the morning.
Bring water and boots that have already been broken in. If the weather is genuinely dangerous we move it, and everyone hears by email the night before.
